Day 21: Personal Growth

As a church, we’ve spent 21 days in prayer as we look ahead for what God wants to do in the season ahead. Our prayer is that you have experienced spiritual growth through these prayer topics.

Today, pray for your own relationship with Jesus. Pray that you would simply FALL MORE IN LOVE WITH JESUS. And that falling more in love with Jesus would help you fall more in love with all that Jesus loves.

Thank you for participating in this 21 Days of Prayer with MCA the Church! THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

Daily Scripture

“SEEK THE LORD AND HIS STRENGTH; SEEK HIS PRESENCE CONTINUALLY!”

—1 CHRONICLES 16:11 (ESV)

Day 20: Families

Let’s pray together for families. We pray that your own family, the families in our church, and those in our community would be blessed and stay strong.

God delights in families that take care of one another, both biological families and chosen families—those friends who just do life together. It is encouraging to know that God promises to bless families as they remain united and continue pursuing God together.

Daily Scripture

God himself will fill you with more. Blessings upon blessings will be heaped upon you and upon your children from the maker of heaven and earth, the very God who made you!

—Psalm 115:14-15 (TPT)

Day 19: Mental Health

Let’s pray today for those who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or depressed in this season. Together we pray for your own mental health and for those who are silently struggling.

God is the stable pillar we can hold on to when our ever-rushing thoughts overwhelm us. Especially in a time when many of us are facing changes, uncertainty, and even personal crises, we remember that God is our safe space, always with us and always for us. God has enormous love for us, and He hears when we pray to him for peace. His calming Spirit is always within reach when we seek him.

Daily Scripture

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

—Psalm 94:19 (NIV)

Day 18: Provision

Today, we pray and seek God’s provision.

He is our Provider, abundantly caring for our every need. Even in the midst of job loss and strapped finances, God makes a way for His people. Matthew 6 talks about how the flowers in the field and the birds of the sky know God will dress them and feed them. How much more will He take care of us, made in His own image and called to share the story of His love?

Daily Scripture

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

—Matthew 6:25, 33-34 (NIV)

Day 17: Wisdom

Today, we pray and seek God’s wisdom. We pray that those in leadership in our church, our communities, and our nation will seek God’s perfect wisdom in every decision they make.

Wisdom isn’t just for those advanced in years or in education. James reminds us that God willingly and eagerly gives wisdom to His people when they ask. Today, pray for the wisdom to make God-honoring decisions with our time, our health, our finances, and our relationships.

Daily Scripture

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

—James 1:5 (NKJV)

Day 16: Unity

Today we pray for unity in our homes, our church, our community, and our nation.

It’s tough to suspend our own beliefs and opinions when we meet someone with a different mindset or worldview than our own, but unity is a beautiful thing worth fighting for. The body of Christ unified is a force for good that is amazingly strong and resilient. A unified home, church, community, and nation is more important than ever in this season.

Daily Scripture

How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.

—Psalms 133:1-3 (NLT)

Day 15: Our Nation and our Government

Today we pray for our government. Pray for a blessing on their households and families. Pray for those in authority to surrender to God, and to have God lead and guide them. That God would give them wisdom to lead and for peace and healing to flood our nation, and that truth would prevail. Move in ways that are beyond what we could ask for, dream of, or imagine because that is the kind of God we have. We know that God works all things for good for those who love Him. We pray those in authority will surrender to God. Pray that Jesus name would become known and You would do a supernatural work in our nation, as we become desperate for more of You.

Daily Scripture

I URGE YOU, FIRST OF ALL, TO PRAY FOR ALL PEOPLE. ASK GOD TO HELP THEM; INTERCEDE ON THEIR BEHALF, AND GIVE THANKS FOR THEM. PRAY THIS WAY FOR KINGS AND ALL WHO ARE IN AUTHORITY SO THAT WE CAN LIVE PEACEFUL AND QUIET LIVES MARKED BY GODLINESS AND DIGNITY. THIS IS GOOD AND PLEASES GOD OUR SAVIOR, WHO WANTS EVERYONE TO BE SAVED AND TO UNDERSTAND THE TRUTH. 1 -

—TIMOTHY 2:1-4 (NLT)

Day 14: Moreno Valley

God has placed us in the city where we live, in the jobs where we work, in the families we love, and in the places we play to be His ambassadors (acting on His behalf).

God invites us to partner with Him in loving our city. He is at work here, and He is changing the story, and that story includes us! We say yes to this in a couple of ways:

One — we should pray earnestly that God would send more of his people out into our city who will represent Him and point people toward a relationship with Him.

And two — we must remember today and every day that God is making himself known to the people around us, through us. He changes a city one person at a time. So ask Him, in prayer, to speak through you today. Ask Him to make you aware of who is in front of you that needs His love, and watch as our city is changed! Pray over the city leaders, over the commerce, over those in need. Pray over those who have lost jobs, businesses, and homes due to this last year. Pray for those who are hurting and struggling right now. God cares about the Inland Empire, and He has placed us here. We are privileged to bring this place before Him, knowing that He hears us.

Daily Scripture

“AND WORK FOR THE PEACE AND PROSPERITY OF THE CITY WHERE I SENT YOU INTO EXILE. PRAY TO THE LORD FOR IT, FOR ITS WELFARE WILL DETERMINE YOUR WELFARE.” -JEREMIAH 29:7

—-JEREMIAH 29:7

Day 13: MCA Groups

Today we’re praying for our MCA Groups, and Group leaders. We’re praying that in our groups, more and more people can get connected into a life-giving community.

We’re also praying that God would raise up leaders to create even more spaces and places for people to have a chance to find family and community.

Daily Scripture

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

—Acts 2:46-47 (NIV)

Day 12: MCA Kids

Today, we’re praying for the kids of our church, along with their parents. Our children are important to God. Their innocence is encouraging, their sense of wonder is amazing, and their faith is an example to us all. Childlike faith is strong, fully dependent and expectant.

Also, we’re praying for our MCA Kids teachers & all the volunteers—for creative ideas to share the story of Jesus in fresh ways, for strength and endurance for our teachers, and that many students would come to faith in Christ!

Daily Scripture

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.

—Proverbs 22:6 (NLT)

Day 11: MCA Pastors & Staff

Today we’re praying for our pastors and church staff. We pray for strength and confidence as they use their God-given gifts to edify and build up the church. Pray for their continued health, their families, and encouragement.

Daily Scripture

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

—Ephesians 4:11-12 (ESV)

Day 10: Senior Pastor Dave and Kirsten Carlson

As we pray today, let’s pray for our Senior Pastors, Dave and Kirsten Carlson.

We’re praying for strength and courage as they lead our church in this season of ministry. We’re praying that no weapon formed against them would prosper, for their continued good health and mental wellbeing, as well as increased vision, wisdom, and favor.

Daily Scripture

And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

—Jeremiah 3:15 (ESV)

Day 9: Southwest Bible College

Today we’re praying for Southwest Bible College. We’re praying for continued growth in the lives of the student body, provision for finances, and for God to continue raising up strong leaders.

Daily Scripture

Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

—2 Timothy 2:15 (NLT)

Day 8: Our Volunteers

Our church is not built on the gifts and talents of a few but on the sacrifice of many.

Today we’re praying for our volunteers—without them, church wouldn’t happen! We’re praying for fresh wind in their sails, rest for them and their families, and for more to join and help!

Daily Scripture

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

—Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

Day 7: MCA Youth & One Day Encounter Conference

Today, we’re praying for the MCA Youth of our church, along with their parents. Our students are important to God. Their youth is encouraging, their sense of wonder is amazing, and their faith is an example to us all. Childlike faith is strong, fully dependent and expectant.

Also, we’re praying for our MCA Youth pastor, Pastor Adam & all the volunteers—for creative ideas to share the story of Jesus in fresh ways, for strength and endurance for our teachers, and that many students would come to faith in Christ!

Daily Scripture

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.

—Proverbs 22:6 (NLT)

Day 6: Relationships

We pray together today for strength, resilience, restoration, and deepening of the relationships in our lives.

It can be easy to let anxiety, fear, or distractions erode our healthy relationships. It seems like the more unstable life gets, the less patience we have for those around us! But we were made to be in relationship with one another, through the easy times and the hard seasons. Is anyone on your heart today? Now is the time for us to mend broken relationships and reconnect with those we have drifted from, because we truly need one another.

Daily Scripture

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

Ephesians 4:2 (NLT)

Day 5: The Lonely

Today, we join together to pray for those in our family, church, and community who feel lonely in this season.

You are never truly alone. God sees you when you are lonely, and He cares abundantly for you. Our Creator God is a friend and a perfect father, always beside us no matter where we find ourselves. We are a family, that means we care for every child of God no matter where they are, so that none are lonely, and all are surrounded by community and love.

Daily Scripture

Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families;
he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

Psalm 68:5-6 (NLT)

Day 4: Guidance

Let’s pray today for guidance through our difficult decisions, that the right path will become clear and that God will be honored through our choices.

In this uncertain season of constant shifting, there are so many difficult choices to make. To stay or to go? To speak up or to let your actions speak for themselves? Rest assured that God consistently provides guidance and companionship along our path when we seek His voice. He offers His Word and His Holy Spirit to direct us through every fork in the road.

Daily Scripture

Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me,  for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.

—Psalm 25:4-5 (NLT)

Day 3: Courage

Today we unite together in prayer for courage. We pray courage over those who are striving for unity, fighting for social justice, facing fear, and those determined to overcome.

No matter how daunting our circumstances may seem, with God on our side nothing can stand against us. There is a call on every one of us, a call that will require courage, strength, and persistence. Let this remembrance of His mighty power strengthen your courage in whatever situation you’re facing.

Daily Scripture

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

—Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Day 2: Health + Wholeness

Let’s pray together for physical healing and wholeness for ourselves, our church, and the local community. We pray also for enduring health and protection as the pandemic continues on.

Our health matters to God and he wants healing for His people. We may live in a fallen world where illness is a natural part of life, but our Healer is supernatural. As you’re praying with us today, be encouraged by remembering that God is stronger than any sickness, and He can overcome any diagnosis.

Daily Scripture

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

—Psalm 103:2-5 (ESV)
